I’ve made this recipe (from allrecipes.com.) a few times and it has started to become a go-to for quick easy meals.

Classic Smoked Sausage & Peppers

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 (14 ounce) package Hillshire FarmĀ® Smoked Sausage, diagonally cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 cups red and green peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  1. Saute sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 3 minutes, turning occasionally.
  2. Add olive oil, onion, peppers and oregano, cooking until tender, about 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese.

Serve over thick sliced toasted garlic bread for a hearty meal. Kick up the heat with a few dashes of chili flakes! (I like to use Hillshire FarmĀ® Hot Smoked Sausage.)
